Con is an annual event that has quickly become a must-attend experience for horror enthusiasts, offering a unique blend of interactive opportunities with horror and pop culture celebrities, as well as memorabilia. When the organizers first approached us, Creep I.E. Con was a smaller, niche gathering. Over the years, it has grown into a major event, now taking over the entire Ontario Convention Center and attracting over 20,000 attendees annually. Our partnership with Creep I.E. Con has been integral to this growth, providing comprehensive branding and marketing support that has helped to solidify its place in the horror convention circuit.

The Challenge

In the early stages, Creep I.E. Con needed a strong brand identity that would resonate with horror fans and set it apart from other conventions. The organizers wanted to create an event that not only celebrated horror but also offered a truly immersive experience. As the event grew, the challenge evolved into maintaining that unique identity while expanding the event’s reach and managing the logistics of a much larger audience.

From Concept to Iconic Brand

We started by developing a compelling brand identity for Creep I.E. Con, creating a logo that would become synonymous with the event. The idea for the branding was capture the look a retro horror comic books. While also being versatile enough to be used across various platforms and materials. We established comprehensive brand guidelines that ensured consistency across all visual elements, from the website to merchandise.

Website Design & Development

As Creep I.E. Con expanded, so did its need for a robust online presence. We designed and developed a user-friendly website that served as the central hub for event information, ticket sales, and social media integration. The website was crafted to handle the increasing traffic as the event grew in popularity, providing a seamless experience for visitors looking to learn more about the event, purchase tickets, or engage with content.

Social Media Strategy & Growth

Social media became a crucial component of Creep I.E. Con’s marketing strategy. We created engaging graphics for announcements, celebrity reveals, and event promotions that were shared across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms. Our strategy focused on building a community of passionate horror fans, and the results were significant—Creep I.E. Con’s Instagram following surpassed 40,000, with substantial growth on Facebook and TikTok as well.

Collateral Creation & Video Production

To ensure the event’s success, we produced a wide range of promotional materials, including event signage, press release images, info packets, and lanyards. Each piece of collateral was designed to enhance the attendee experience, from eye-catching signage that guided visitors through the convention center to professionally crafted info packets that provided key details about the event. Additionally, we created pre-event and post-event promotional videos that highlighted the event’s offerings, building anticipation and recapping the experience for attendees.

Event Expansion & Success

What started as a smaller gathering has now expanded to fill the entire Ontario Convention Center, with Creep I.E. Con attracting over 20,000 attendees annually. The event’s success has led to the creation of additional events under the CreepIE brand, including Creep I.E. Aftermath, now entering its second year, and the upcoming Retro Palm Springs event, a retro-focused convention that will further broaden the brand’s appeal.

Creep I.E. Con has consistently garnered extensive unpaid media and influencer coverage, which has been instrumental in expanding its reach. The event’s strong social media presence and engaging content have also contributed to high levels of engagement from a passionate and growing fanbase.
