Overview

Legacy Harbour Marina is a well-known boating destination along the Caloosahatchee River in downtown Fort Myers. After Hurricane Ian, the marina entered a major redevelopment phase. Although a website for a separate on-property project had launched previously, that project did not move forward, and the marina no longer had an active, accurate digital home. With a refreshed brand led by Duree & Co, the team needed a clean, modern website that clearly communicated its amenities, slip reservation process, and redevelopment plans.

HypeSmack was brought in to build a new, dedicated WordPress website from scratch; one that aligned with the new brand direction and restored the marina’s online presence.

The Challenge

Legacy Harbour Marina needed a site that reflected the quality and reliability of its experience while eliminating confusion caused by outdated or unrelated project information online. The team required:

  • A professional, easy-to-navigate website aligned with the new brand
  • Tools for boaters planning visits, including slip reservations and weather resources
  • A structure that could evolve as redevelopment milestones progressed
  • Proper URL redirection to avoid confusion from the previous project site

The new platform had to feel polished, trustworthy, and intuitive.

Site Planning & UX Structure

We began by mapping the content and navigation needed during redevelopment and for the full reopening. The goal was to help boaters and visitors find essential information quickly and intuitively.

  • Easy contact and inquiry access

Custom Website Design & Build

We designed and built a modern WordPress site aligned with the refreshed brand developed by Duree & Co. The layout emphasized clarity, accessibility, and strong visual presentation. Key design elements included:

  • A clean layout inspired by the marina’s riverfront setting
  • Streamlined navigation and improved page structure

Feature Integration for Boaters

To support practical needs and enhance the visitor experience, we integrated essential tools directly into the site. This included:

  • Embedded Dockwa for slip reservations
  • A real-time weather tracker to support trip planning
  • Clear amenity listings and visitor information

Structured modules ready for future updates, including livestream and expanded galleries

Built for Expansion

Because redevelopment is ongoing, we created a flexible foundation that can evolve over time. The site can easily grow with:

  • New sections and amenities
  • Updated photography and visuals
  • Event information and community updates
  • Livestreaming of the dock area once opened
  • Future live dock camera integration

The Outcome

The marina now has a fully rebuilt digital presence that reflects its premium location and visitor experience. The new site offers essential tools for boaters, including reservations and real-time weather, while creating a clear and modern representation of the property’s redevelopment.

As the marina progresses toward its reopening, the website is designed to scale with new amenities, updated photography, and added features. It provides the strong digital foundation Legacy Harbour Marina needed to reintroduce itself to both local and visiting boaters.
